🎉 I have some exciting news!!
It’s been over a year since I posted anything new on Drawn to Lead. May 1, 2025 was my last post. But I’m back and have some exciting news plus a chance for you to win an amazing leather journal!
But first, why did I stop in the first place?
Well, there was a number of reasons, but honestly the main one was the fact that I simply didn’t have a vision for where Drawn to Lead should go. I wasn’t working towards something so it just felt a little aimless and absolutely killed my desire to make it a priority.
Over the past year I kept telling myself I needed to dive back in. Just write something. But nothing felt right. A couple times I came in here and wrote a post and then just left it in the drafts with all the others.
Because the post had the same directionless feel as all the others.
But then something changed.
I was sitting down listening to a podcast. It was the Diary of a CEO. My mind began to wander and I started thinking about Drawn to Lead again and its original mission to help new and existing leaders grow. And out of nowhere, the idea for a whole new direction just came to me.
THE INSPIRATION
Leadership books have been a significant part of my journey. But not just consuming them so I could display them on my shelf, really unpacking them and using them in my daily life. Very few of these books did I find on my own. Often the most impactful books were placed in my hands by a trusted leader. And the ones that really stuck, were because I walked through them intentionally with other trusted leaders, hearing their insights and perspectives. Really understanding the core idea and making them actionable.
THE IDEA
Over the next 12 months, I plan to go through the top 12 leadership books that have had the greatest impact on my leadership journey. Each month, I plan to distill one book down into:
One key leadership principle
Simple sketches & Sketchnotes
Written articles
Video clips from my book club where leaders who are actively trying to live out these principles share how they are putting each of these books into action.
AND FOR PAID SUBSCRIBERS…
I am also introducing a paid tier that will include a downloadable fill-in-the-blank sketchnote along with journaling prompts to help each book become more tangible. This group of supporters will also get the full book club video (and hopefully) more!

This is super exciting, Kacy! I've been reading through lots of leadership and team development books lately and I love your sketchnotes so this just makes sense. Great idea and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this shapes up!
Glad to see you back and with new vision! It sounds like an interesting approach to things and different from some of the others out there. I think the one a month makes it easier to put together for you, and put into action for others! I think there’s a real problem with looking to move on to the next new idea, rather than actually implement the ideas we know.
