This is the final of four posts on the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It is the second book in my current series where I are breaking down the 12 books that have most impacted my leadership journey into simple, actionable principles.
A former team member reached out to me last week. She shared that she had just moved into a leadership role in her org and was wondering if I had any book recommendations to help her get her bearings in this new role. I had to smile. Obviously she isn’t reading my posts here. ha!

As I thought through which book to tell her, I ended up recommending her re-read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Maybe it’s recency bias because I have been digging into it so much lately, but I really believe that this books is a must for anyone in leadership. I truly believe that it’s critical to not simply focus on leading by your actions, but leading with your character.
For my final post for this book, I wanted to share a sketchnote that will help you remember some of the key concepts we’ve covered over the last few posts. Download it. Print it out. Use it as a reference as you read the book. Or if you’ve already finished reading, keep it handy as a reminder to help you put it into practice.
If you missed any of the other posts in this series or my first post on Sinek’s Start with Why, I’ve linked them below for easy reference.

Next week we start the third book in this series, Originals by Adam Grant. This is one of my favorite books and I read it every year. It’s not one you’ll typically find on a leadership book lists, but it’s one that has changed my thinking in a major way. I credit a ton of my success to that shift. Can’t wait to dig in!
More to come.
